About The Keage Incline
The Keage Incline railway is a section of railway that has been abolished and is now an excellent cherry blossom viewing spot in Kyoto. It is near Cuegami Station.
The Keage Incline was an incline railroad (incline) in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City that formed part of the boat transportation route by the Lake Biwa Sosui between Nanzenji and Keage.
It was used from 1891 to 1948 between Nanzenji and Keage.
It is now a national historic site and a tourist attraction lined with cherry blossom trees.
