About Kakegawa Bird Garden
Kakegawa Bird Garden is a theme park where visitors can enjoy “interaction with flowers and birds.
The large, all-weather glasshouse inside the park is a comfortable space that can be enjoyed regardless of the season, with controlled temperature and ventilation. Visitors are welcomed by 1,000 rare birds of about 100 species and flowers in full bloom throughout the year.
The entire park is barrier-free, so that small children, the elderly, and people in wheelchairs or strollers can fully enjoy the park.
How to get there
(1)Car: 5 minutes from Tomei Expressway Kakegawa IC
(2)Train: 800m walk from JR Kakegawa Station (3 minutes by cab)
(3)Bus: 10 min. from JR Kakegawa Station, north exit, platform 2, southbound on the city circulation line.

Tips
I had wanted to visit Kakegawa Kachoen for a long time. I finally got my wish. If you go there thinking it is a zoo, it is not so big. It is a place to go for interaction with birds rather than to see strange birds. If you think of it as a bird cafe, it is large and very satisfying. When we entered the zoo first thing in the morning, the birds came close to us even before we bought the feeder. They would perch on my arm even though I didn’t have any feeder yet (lol). The bird show that is held several times a day seems to have different contents. We were only there in the morning, but I would like to see the afternoon bird show. The souvenirs are also cheaper than other theme parks.
