About Itami City Insectarium
The Itami City Insectarium is an insect museum located on the banks of Konyoike Park, which is also famous as a bird park. The butterfly greenhouse, where 1,000 butterflies of about 14 species fly around all year round, is a must-see.
How to get there
15 minutes by bus from Itami Station (Take a city bus from No. 4 bus stop in front of JR Itami Station or No. 4 bus stop in front of Hankyu Itami Station and get off at “Matsugaoka” or “Tamada-danchi” bus stop.)
From Itami Station, 15 minutes by bus (Take a city bus from No. 4 bus stop in front of JR Itami Station or No. 4 bus stop in front of Hankyu Itami Station, get off at Matsugaoka or Tamada-danchi bus stop, or take a city bus from No. 1 bus stop in front of JR Nakayamadera Station, and get off at Matsugaoka bus stop).
Tips
The day we happened to visit was not a good day, but once you enter the park, you do not need an umbrella, so you can enjoy the park even on a rainy day regardless.
In the greenhouse where butterflies are free-ranging, my child was delighted when a butterfly perched on her body.
