Belles montagnes et mer is an all-seat, one-car sightseeing train that operates on the JR Jobata Line between Takaoka City and Nanto City in Toyama Prefecture, and on the JR Himi Line between Takaoka City and Himi City.
New Takaoka Station – Himi Station about 55 minutes(18.3 km)
Between Takaoka Station and Jobata Station: about 50 minutes (29.9 km)
How to buy the ticket
To board the Belles montagnes et mer, first purchase a ticket and reserved-seat ticket at JR Midori-no-Madoguchi or major travel agencies.
Reserved seat tickets can be purchased at any JR station with a Midori-no-Madoguchi ticket counter from one month prior to the train’s operation.
Please note that you cannot board the train with only a boarding ticket, as all seats are reserved.
In particular, seats at the counters on the ocean side and the Tateyama Mountain Range side are particularly popular, so please purchase early.
If you want Whole Japan Rail Pass, first make a ticket reservation!
If you have a discount coupon, you can make a reservation and purchase tickets online at a discount price.

Fare for the section of the Johata Line and Himi Line + reserved seat ticket (530 yen)
Example: Total 860 yen between Takaoka and Himi (boarding ticket: adult: 330 yen + reserved seat ticket for Belmonter: 530 yen)
