How to get to Makuhari Messe

About Makuhari Messe

The Makuhari Messe was first established in 1989 as a large convention and exhibition center in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, through the merger of the International Exhibition Hall owned by Chiba Prefecture, the company’s International Convention Hall and the Makuhari Convention Hall. The name “Makuhari” is a local name, and “Messe” is the German word for “trade show”.

Makuhari Messe covers a total area of approximately 210,000 square meters and is the second largest exhibition center in Japan after Tokyo Big Sight. Makuhari Messe consists of an international exhibition hall, an international venue, an event hall and other related facilities, and is a large-scale comprehensive convention facility that hosts a variety of events such as conventions, meetings, sports events and music performances. The exhibition halls are equipped with space-adjustable partitions to accommodate a wide variety of spaces and products, as well as a variety of performances.

Tips

I went to the live concert.
The images on the big screen in the large space are breathtaking.
It is a standing room, so naturally small people cannot see anything in front of them.
There are few restrooms, and I have the impression that there is always a long line not only for live concerts but also for other events.
It is conveniently connected to the APA Hotel next door by a connecting passageway.
