How to get to Shikoku Aquarium/Buy discount Tickets

About Shikoku Aquarium

This aquarium is a two-story reinforced concrete building with 69 tanks, displaying 14,000 living creatures of about 400 species. Highlights include reproductions of “Shikoku aquatic landscapes” such as the Seto Inland Sea, the clear waters of the Shimanto River, and the whirlpools of Naruto.

In “Watatsumi no Keiken,” which is based on the image of the Kuroshio Current and the waters of the Pacific Ocean, smelt, horse mackerels, and other fish migrate through the largest tank in Shikoku. In the “Kanashizuki no Kei,” visitors can look up at red hammerhead sharks through a huge round window, and in the “Whirlpool View,” the tidal currents of the Naruto Straits are reproduced. The “Dolphin Pool,” which seems to have become one with the Seto Inland Sea, is a must-see for its dolphins in action.

This new landmark of Kagawa Prefecture attracts visitors not only from within Shikoku, but from far and wide. It is already the center of attention.

Tips

I walked all over and saw everything in an hour.
I would like to go with a friend next time when I have more time. It was a pity that many events were held after noon because the typhoon had passed. However, the staff did their best to open at 10:00 a.m. instead of 11:00 a.m., so we were able to see everything.
