How to buy the ticket
You can buy tickets at the Midori-no Madoguchi, vending machines, on the Internet, and at ticket shops7.
At the Midori-no-Madoguchi window, you will be asked, “Is your seat reserved or unreserved?
If you prefer the window side, choose the window side.
If you choose a “non-reserved seat,” you may be asked to stand and move around on the Shinkansen if the train is full.
Finally, you will be asked, “Round trip or one way?
When you arrive at the entrance (ticket gate) of the Shinkansen, insert the ticket you have just purchased (a combined ticket and limited express ticket) into the ticket gate and proceed forward.
If you have two tickets (a train ticket and an express ticket), you are told to stack both tickets on top of each other and insert them both into the ticket gate.
When you pass through the ticket gate, do not forget to pick up your ticket.

How to use Kyushu Net Ticket
Kyushu Net Ticket is a discount ticket that can be purchased through JR Kyushu Internet train reservations. A set of tickets with discounts on fares, limited express fares, and green fees are available. The discount cannot be used in combination with student discount or round-trip discount. Tickets can be purchased up to 6 minutes before the train departs on the boarding date.
Kyushu Net Ticket reservations can be made at any JR Kyushu station ticket counter or ticket vending machine, where you will receive a paper ticket and board the train.
Kyushu Net Ticket does not allow you to board trains other than the reserved train and seat. If you miss a train, you cannot board a subsequent train. However, if the ticket is for a non-reserved seat, you can board any train on that day.

For Kyushu Shinkansen and limited express trains within Kyushu,
Kyushu Net Early Bird 7 (reservation up to 7 days in advance)
Kyushu Net Early Bird Special 3 (reservation up to 3 days in advance)
Kyushu Net Ticket (can be purchased on the same day).
You can also purchase discount tickets such as JQ Card and Zipangu.
Furthermore, JQ Card and Zipangu member-only discounts and limited time discounts are sometimes available.
Register as a web member on the JR Kyushu online reservation page (or app) from your smartphone or PC. (Registration is free of charge)
Enter the departure station, arrival station, date and time, and the number of passengers, and you will be able to see the applicable discounts and fares.
You do not need to check the train schedule, just enter the approximate time you want to take the train, and the system will give you a list of possible trains that are just right for your schedule.
Paper ticket pickup locations
If you buy Kyushu Net Ticket by computer or smartphone, you need to pick up your paper ticket somewhere. You can pick up your tickets at JR Kyushu ticket counters, limited express ticket vending machines, or pick-up machines.

What is the refund fee for Kyushu Net Ticket?
The refund fee for Kyushu Net Ticket is 560 yen for a reserved seat before receipt. This consists of 220 yen for a one-way ticket and 340 yen for a limited express ticket. For unreserved seats, the fee is 440 yen (220 yen for the limited express ticket). From the day before train departure until departure time, a refund fee of 220 yen for a one-way ticket and 30% of the sale price (minimum 340 yen) for each limited express ticket will be charged.
After the departure time of the train, a cancellation fee of 220 yen per one-way ticket (within the validity period of the ticket only) will be charged for the train ticket portion. The limited express ticket portion is non-refundable.
