Hello Kitty Shinkansen(bullet train) Ride Guide/How to Reserve Fees and Tickets

The 500 Series Shinkansen was once a famous car that served as the Nozomi linking Tokyo and Hakata, and is still operating as the Kodama between Shin-Osaka and Hakata in 2019.

Among these 500 series Shinkansens, the “Hello Kitty Shinkansen” is gaining attention as a standout!

Previously, we collaborated with Evangelion, but the next step was the Hello Kitty Shinkansen, which pursued cuteness. Lol

This time, I will explain how to get on the Hello Kitty Shinkansen, how to purchase a ticket, etc.

In the case of an unreserved seat express ticket, you can purchase it on the day because the train is not specified, but you may not be able to sit on the seat when it is crowded.

Tickets can be purchased at 10:00 a.m one month before the boarding date, at the ticket counter or ticket vending machines.

In-car guidance

The first car is a space where you can buy Hello Kitty’s Goods and take a photo.

There is also a commemorative board with the date, so if you wish the crew will take a commemorative photo.

The unreserved seats of Car 2 have been upgraded to Hello Kitty specifications.

The reserved seats seemed full, but the unreserved seats were relatively vacant.

It seems that few people pass through Hakata-Shin-Osaka because “Kodama” stops at each station.

Car 2 has a large Hello Kitty on display, which is also a recommended place for a commemorative photo.

On the right side is a space for large luggage such as suitcases.

Unreserved seats are arranged in three rows and two rows.

However, unlike the N700 Shinkansen, there is no outlet.

By the way, reserved seats have a spacious two-row + two-row seating arrangement!

Hello Kitty was drawn on the shade of the shade.

There were more foreign tourists more than I expected, and many people were taking photos.

For short-distance use, we recommend the unreserved seat of Car 2 near Car 1!

Conclusion: the same as a regular Shinkansen!

The Hello Kitty Shinkansen is operated as the Kodama of the Sanyo Shinkansen, and operates one round trip between Shin-Osaka and Hakata once a day.

As with regular Shinkansen, you can get on a ticket by purchasing a ticket and an express ticket, and there are also unreserved seats so you can get on an unreserved express ticket!

Reserved seats are often filled up early, so if you buy reserved seats, make sure to book early.
