Tokaido Shinkansen trains with electrical outlets
In the N700 and N700A Series of the Tokaido Shinkansen, power outlets are installed in the front row seats, last row seats, window seats (A and E seats), and all seats in the Green Car. Conversely, there are no power outlets on the aisle side of regular cars except for the front row and last row.
Some 700 Series trains also have power outlets in the front row and last row of some cars, but there are more cars without power outlets.
The N700S series, which will be introduced in 2020, will have power outlets in all seats.
In the latest Shinkansen trains, all seats, whether in regular or green carriages, are equipped with power outlets for mobile power. On the other hand, older cars may have only some seats or no outlets at all.
