How to spend a late night at Haneda Airport! Can I take a nap or stay the night before for free?
It is possible to sleep over for free during the late night and early morning hours at Haneda Airport!
However, only at Terminal 3, which is open 24 hours a day.
There are benches throughout Haneda Airport so you can lie down and spend the night.
Terminals 1 and 2 (domestic flights) have closing hours.
As a general rule, Terminal 1 (mainly for JAL) and Terminal 2 (mainly for ANA) at Haneda Airport are open from 5:00 to 24:00.
You can spend time on benches in the terminal even a little before 5:00.
The departure floor (2nd floor) closes after the last flight departs, usually between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The arrival floor (1st floor) is open after the last flight departs. The arrival floor (1st floor) closes around 24:00 after the last flight arrives.
Terminal 1 and 2 Opening Hours
5:00 – 24:00 in principle
Around 24:00 on the 1st floor (Arrivals lobby)
Around 21:00-22:00 on the 2nd floor (departure lobby)
Closes after the last flight for both departures and arrivals.
Transportation between terminals late at night and early in the morning
Free shuttle buses run between Haneda Airport Terminals 1, 2, and 3.
However, the free shuttle bus service ends after Terminals 1 and 2 close, so if you are traveling from a domestic flight to an international flight late at night, you will need to be there in time to catch the last bus!
The road connecting Haneda Airport Terminals 1 and 2 to Terminal 3 is a long tunnel and is not accessible by foot or bicycle!
How to spend the night at Haneda Airport?
Terminal 3 (international flights) is open 24 hours
While Terminals 1 and 2 of Haneda Airport’s domestic flights have closing hours, Terminal 3, from which international flights depart, is open 24 hours a day.
Therefore, there are a small number of flights that depart and arrive late at night or early in the morning.
There are benches on almost every floor of Terminal 3 for international flights, so you can sit or lie down and take a nap!
Many benches are also equipped with electrical outlets.
Around Lawson on the 1st floor
This Lawson is the only 24-hour store at Haneda Airport.
2nd Floor Arrival
The second floor is filled with benches overflowing with people who have arrived on late night flights and want to kill time until the first train.
A surprisingly large number of people sleep in this area, using their luggage as pillows and taking off their shoes.
Departure floor, 3rd floor
Nice benches on both sides at the back of the terminal to lie down.。
Use of shower rooms at Haneda Airport
Terminal 3, where international flights are located, has shower rooms open 24 hours a day
Use of Haneda Airport lounge (only for flights departing late at night)
When using international flights, there are card lounges and lounges for JAL and ANA senior members in the departure area.
Even if you are not a JAL or ANA senior member, you can enter the “SKY Lounge” card lounge if you have a gold credit card. (*You do not have to have a Gold American Express credit card to enter the lounge.)

On December 21, 2022, a hot spring facility will be built at Haneda Airport!
An unlikely hot spring facility. It is a new arrival at Haneda Airport.
And the fact that it is open 24 hours a day is truly wonderful, and it is the fulfillment of my wish for such a facility.
