About Resort Shirakami
Resort Shirakami is a temporary rapid train operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) between Akita Station and Hirosaki and Aomori Stations via Ou Main Line and Gono Line.
The Gono Line runs mostly along the Sea of Japan coastline in Aomori and Akita, making it a popular train for passengers to enjoy the spectacular view of the coastline from the train windows.
Events such as live performances of Tsugaru shamisen music, storytelling demonstrations in Tsugaru dialect, and puppet shows by Kintamazura are also held on board the train. For more information, please visit the JR East Japan page.

In addition to the fare, you need to purchase a reserved-seat ticket in order to board the train, as all seats are reserved. Reserved-seat tickets can be purchased through Ekinetto or at green ticket vending machines nationwide.
The Seishun 18 Ticket and the East Japan/Kita-Nihon Round Trip Pass allow you to board the train with the purchase of a reserved-seat ticket only, which is quite economical!
