About Akiyoshidai Safariland
This is a safari-type zoo located in the great nature of Akiyoshidai, where visitors can go around by private car or by feeding bus. Visitors can interact with more than 600 animals of about 60 species, including white tigers, which are said to bring good luck. There is also an amusement park, restaurants, and stores.
How to get there
(1)60 minutes by bus from Shin-Yamaguchi Station on the JR Sanyo Main Line
(2)3 minutes drive from Minehigashi JCT to Edo IC on Chugoku Expressway.
Tips
The feeding experience is timed, and the times are staggered for each animal, so we were able to experience a variety of animals in turn. There is an extra fee for the experience, but it was a great experience for the kids and they got to see a white tiger, a giraffe, a capybara, a kangaroo, and many more.
The elephants were allowed to feed, even though it did not say that it was a feeding experience, but it was nice to be able to see them up close!
I was a little disappointed that we had to pay for the safari by car, because the tablet was not able to find the position of the animals and it made no sense at all. It would be nice if we could choose to use it only for those who need it.
The amusement park was a little deserted, which was disappointing.
The restaurant happened to have a great view of the red panda, and it was very nice, but I thought it was luck.
