About Moomin Valley Park
Moomin Valley Park opened in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture! Come and experience the charm of the stories and the thoughts of the author, Tove Jansson, in four areas where you can relive the Moomin stories.
Moomin Valley Park is a theme park where you can relive the Moomin stories. The interactive exhibition facility “Cokemus” is full of fun features, including a giant diorama of the Moomin Valley that is over 8 meters high! You can get close to the Moomins from various angles at the stores, restaurants, and workshops. There are also athletic facilities and a tree house, allowing visitors to experience a paradise of forests and lakes with their whole bodies.
How to get there
Train: Approx. 13 minutes by bus from Hanno Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line
Car: 5.4 km from Sayama-Hidaka Interchange via Prefectural Route 262 (about 12 minutes)

Tips
This was my first visit to Moomin Valley and I was very satisfied. I had been to an exhibition of original paintings by Tove Jansson, the creator of the Moomins, and was somewhat familiar with the roots of the Moomins and their worldview, but after watching the show that began soon after I entered the park, I was able to understand that the theme park was created very faithfully to the creator’s intentions through the explanations on the original paintings at the museum in Cochemus and the video depicting Tove Jansson’s life. I could understand that the theme park was created in accordance with the author’s intention.
I had seen the original picture of the girl in the show in the past, and the story about the invisible girl called Ninnie is about how she wants her children to become compassionate children.
