About Natural Ecology Theme Botanical Garden, Bios Hill
Bios Hill in Uruma City is a rich subtropical forest with giant ferns, waterside areas where wild birds and insects gather, and orchids growing in their natural habitat. Visitors can enjoy the rich nature by walking along the walking paths or riding on the lake viewing boats. The lake viewing boat, which operates at the park’s Dalong Pond, is a 25-minute jungle cruise. The boatman will guide you along the lake’s shores, showing you the plants, flowers, and small animals that live here. The Dairyu Pond also offers a canoeing experience for beginners, which is perfect for activity-seekers.
The park also offers a buffalo cart that operates regularly, which is rare on the main island of Okinawa, and a plaza where visitors can interact with goats and other animals. For dining, there is Omoro Chaya, which serves Okinawan soba noodles and taco rice, and Agarimachiya, a cafe that sells tickets for the buffalo carts and road trains. Hana Ui, located in the Bios Hill Garden Center, is an orchid specialty store directly connected to the production greenhouse. A wide variety of orchids are on display and for sale. Irimachiya sells a variety of souvenirs and offers visitors the opportunity to try on Ryukyuan costumes.

Tips
It is a wonderful place that makes you feel as if you are in a jungle. It is so rich in nature with greenery all over the place that it is very Okinawa-like!
There are many subtropical plants. When I visited, hibiscus were blooming so beautifully that I felt like I was in a tropical country. The park was also very well maintained.
We took a ride on a buffalo cart and a cruise car, and the guide gave us a very relaxing and easy-to-understand explanation. There are athletic facilities, hammocks, and swings that make use of nature, so children can have a lot of fun.
