About Coex Aquarium

Coex Aquarium is a large aquarium consisting of 183 exhibition tanks, 90 breeding tanks, and a volume of 3,500 tons. The theme zone, themed “Fantastic Water Journey,” is home to more than 40,000 aquatic creatures of over 650 species. At COEX Aquarium, where the whole family can have fun in the water, visitors can encounter 17 species of sharks and meet manatees, a super-sized endangered herbivore species.

The COEX aquarium offers many opportunities to see underwater creatures at mealtime, and you can vividly watch them feed, including the world’s largest freshwater fish, the pirarucu, and the piranha, a cannibalistic fish, as well as the electric loach, a predator that emits electricity from its body, and the electric eel, a predator of loaches. Each creature will be explained by an aquarist.

Tips

Although there were a little too many decorations that seemed to be for children, the aquarium takes a lot of time and effort to decorate the exhibits, and there are various ways to view the tanks from different angles and in many other ways.
Sometimes, there are sights that require reservations, so I reserved a ticket on the subway to the Coex Mall through Connect, just in case.
